Welcome to Slovenia, a hidden gem in the heart of Europe! Ljubljana walking tour is a great introduction into the city’s history and present as well as the country itself. It is a good way to get to know the greatest city’s architect, Jože Plečnik, whose work was inscribed in UNESCO world heritage list last year.
After the tour we will have some free time at leisure OR enjoy an excellent home-made seasonal lunch at one of local restaurants. The day will finish with private wine tasting in a 300-year-old wine cellar. Local sommelier will share with us all the fun facts about wine culture in Slovenia – and there is plenty of them.
Today we will be exploring the breathtaking alpine region of Slovenia, considered by many Slovenians as a true symbol of the country's distinct character and identity.
Today we will be visiting Postojna cave which is one of Slovenia‘s main attractions. Because of its beauty and diversity, it has been called the "queen of all caves“. The most significant attraction of cave Postojna is the Brilliant, which is a 5-meter-high, snow-white stalagmite in the middle of the cave. In addition to the breathtaking stalactites, you can also find Murano-glass chandeliers and baby dragons here.
We will continue towards Istria region which is a feast for the eyes, with rolling hills, fields, and valleys dotted with charming towns perched on the peaks. Our town of the day will be a charming town called Piran. The town was once part of the great Venetian republic and is filled with stunning architecture that reflects its history.
