ELEGANT WINES OF VIPAVA VALLEY
Just a short distance from Slovenia's capital is the beautiful Vipava Valley, a must-visit destination for wine lovers. You will be amazed by the endless hills and numerous vineyards surrounded by stunning mountains in this wine lover's paradise.
Our first stop is a truly special place: an organic boutique cellar in the beautiful Vipava Valley.
For lunch, we're heading to a truly special restaurant where the ingredients are locally sourced from their own garden and fields.
EXPLORING THE LAND OF HEIDI
We'll be exploring the breathtaking alpine region of Slovenia, considered by many Slovenians as a true symbol of the country's distinct character and identity.
Our first stop is Lake Bled, Slovenia's most famous tourist destination and home to the only natural island in Slovenia. We'll take a boat ride to the island and climb the old 12th-century castle perched on a steep cliff, offering spectacular views of the lake, the island, and the surrounding peaks.
As the day comes to a close, we'll have the chance to visit a local beekeeper. You'll learn all about the lives of bees, why they are so important, and why beekeepers tend to live longer.
SLOVENIAN VERSION OF TUSCANY
We're off to explore the Slovenian version of Tuscany: Goriška Brda, also known as Collio in Italy.
In the spring, the hillsides are covered in cherry and peach blossoms, while in the summer and fall, the vineyards are bursting with ripe, sweet grapes in a spectrum of colors.
Among all other attractions, we will visit a special winery run by a man who has dreamed of becoming a winemaker since he was a child. He has revived the family wine-growing tradition passed down from his great-grandfather, who was renowned for producing top-quality wines.
After savoring the fine wines of this local winery, it's time to sit down and enjoy a wine-paired lunch.
THE NORTHERN VINEYARD OF SLOVENIA
Podravje region is located in north-east Slovenia and bordering Austria. This region is known for its hilly terrain, with soil mostly composed of carbonate rocks and clay. The climate here is ideal for making white wines.
Podravje is considered one of the best regions in the world for Sauvignon Blanc, alongside New Zealand and South Africa. We'll be visiting a very special winery in the region. Lunch will take place in an idyllic location away from hustle and bustle and a wonderful all-round view.
LAND OF TRUFFLES, OLIVE OIL AND WINE
Today we'll be visiting the beautiful region of Istria, located between the Adriatic Sea and the mainland.
To start the day off with a bang, we'll be participating in a special local activity: truffle hunting.
After a hard day's work, we'll be ready to quench our thirst with a visit to a local winery where they honor tradition and Istrian cultural heritage.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we'll head to the most picturesque coastal town in Slovenia, Piran. You will be able to explore this charming town which was once part of the great Venetian republic and is filled with stunning architecture that reflects its history.
FAREWELL TO SLOVENIA
It's time to say goodbye to Ljubljana and Slovenia. After a delicious breakfast, you'll be transferred to the airport for your flight back. While it's time to head back home, our hope is that the memories of this beautiful country will stay with you forever and that you'll want to come back and explore more of Slovenia in the future.
